It’s Okay to Be Bougie

The term "bougie" is derived from the Old French word, "bourgeois", which means middle or upper class. It originated in the African American community as a term for wealthier or upwardly mobile people who were seen as socially pretentious. It's now used more generally to refer to people who have expensive tastes (despite what your finances say).
